Sarah Lessila

Sarah is one of our Research Lab Coordinators involved in various ongoing studies in Dr. Hunter’s Lab. Prior to joining the lab, Sarah earned her BS in Exercise Physiology and MS in Exercise & Rehabilitation Science from Marquette University. Sarah has worked on a variety of research studies beginning in her undergraduate degree working in the Integrative Neural Engineering & Rehabilitation Laboratory (INERL) where she studied gait and balance impairments in people with cervical myelopathy under the direction of Dr. Allison Hyngstrom. Recently earning her MS in 2023, Sarah focused her studies researching pain, physical activity and Long COVID-19 under Dr. Marie Hoeger Bement. She is very excited to continue her professional career in the Neuromuscular Physiology Lab studying exercise performance and muscle fatigue.

Outside of the lab, Sarah enjoys her volunteer work on local organic farms, reading science books, listening to classic rock, cycling, and rock climbing.
